What’s Your Fantasy Week 13

Thursday, December 3rd, 2009

It’s Week 13 of the NFL season, which doubles as the final week of the regular season in most fantasy leagues.  I’ve got all of the matchups to exploit to help you secure a playoff spot.  This week’s recommendations include starting a couple of familiar names, benching a top-tier WR, and picking up a few risky and underrated players who could end up making a big difference.  As always, we’ve got plenty of music, photos, and jokes for your viewing pleasure.  Go Fins!!

Thursday Night Football Video

Wednesday, December 2nd, 2009

Here is a video that Michelle put together from the Panthers/Dolphins game two Thurdays ago at Third & Long.  Everything seemed so possible then… sigh… The video is great, I didn’t have time to get it up last week and I have been sulking this week, so here it finally is.  If you haven’t been out to Third & Long yet this video shows you what it’s all about.

More Faces Of DolfansNYC

Saturday, November 28th, 2009

Last Thursday was one of the craziest nights we have had. If you were there you know how packed it was. At the beginning of this clip I mention that we have interviews with 4 new DolfansNYC members… well it turned out we shot 5 videos and interviewed 7 people! You clearly have to check this video out because it includes a pretty amazing Dolphins tattoo. You have been warned.

For The Troops…

Tuesday, November 24th, 2009

As I mentioned before in my pictures from Web Weekend, Michelle and I went down to Miami for a gathering of people who run Miami Dolphins websites. It’s great to see everyone every year, but this year we were missing someone.  Our friend Jim Miller had to miss this years event because he was overseas in Iraq. Michelle decided to make a tribute for him while we were down there and I am posting it in two parts below.

Now while a lot of this stuff is directed at Jim, there is tons of footage from our trip including shout outs from players, shots of Tony Sporano speaking to us, and pregame warm ups from the field.  I think you will want to watch it.  Also, if any of you have Dolphins fans overseas you might want to send them to them to let them know how much they mean to the Dolphins nation. And let’s bring em home soon.

Go Dolphins.

Faces Of DolfansNYC (Miami Edition)

Thursday, November 19th, 2009

I just about to head down to Third & Long for the Thursday night game against the Carolina Panthers. This was a win on my calendar two weeks ago, but since then Carolina has pulled out two big wins.  Not to mention the horrible news of Ronnie Brown being out for the year. This could be a tough one.  We win this, we have 10 days to get healthy, a game against a falling apart Buffalo team, and then into New England.  If we can beat NE, we will own the tie breakers against them and the Jets in the event of a tie. These are some pretty big games.

Anyway, here is another video where you get to know members of DolfansNYC. Usually I introduce them, but since we only had a few of us down in Miami Michelle and I decided to interview ourselves as well.  I was going to get someone else to do the introduction, but we completely forgot.  So yeah, there is no introduction, just me awkwardly talking about why I am a Dolphins fan, and how this club began.  Enjoy.

What’s Your Fantasy? Week 11

Thursday, November 19th, 2009

[Editors note, due to us not getting back from Miami till Monday night and the short week, we are running a bit behind. Photos and video coming soon!

Week 11 of the NFL season is here, and I’ve got another early edition to get your lineups set before tomorrow night’s big game against the Carolina Panthers. This week’s recommendations include starting everyone’s favorite Dolphin, benching a hated Jet, and hitting the waiver wire for three new starting running backs. As always, we’ve got plenty of music, photos, and jokes for your viewing pleasure. Go Fins!!

Meet More Of The Crew…

Thursday, November 12th, 2009

I am getting packed for my trip to Miami.  Michelle and I are headed to the Tampa Game in Miami this weekend… But don’t worry, Third and Long should still be jumping because of all the people who make this club what it is.  Want to meet four more of them? Check out the video below.

Ps. I will post about it again tomorrow, but I know a few of the DolfansNYC crew will be in Miami this weekend. Hit us up at DolfansNYC@gmail.com if you are going to be at the game.

What’s Your Fantasy – Week 10

Thursday, November 12th, 2009
It’s time to get you ready for Week 10 of the NFL season.  With Thursday night games starting this week, I deliver an early edition of my fantasy picks after taking back everything I said about a player I recommended benching.  Plus, I answer two questions from a lucky viewer in need of urgent advice.  Check out the video for more photos, music, and humor.  Go Fins!!!

A Good Cause and A Good Cry

Wednesday, November 11th, 2009
Well, I’m almost recovered from that terrible loss to the Patriots – a team that I dislike A LOT! As some of you may know, I used to watch the Phins games in a Pats bar. It was brutal, week after week, but also inspired Igor and I to start DolfansNYC, so certainly a bittersweet experience.
In any case, the thing that definitely helped me feel better about the game was looking back at how awesome the people at Third and Long were on Sunday. So many of you contributed to our fundraiser to support the club and The I Will Foundation. I had a terrific opportunity to meet Matt Long, the founder of I Will. His story is moving and inspiring and I encourage all of you to check it out on his website iwillfoundation.com We talked about having him come in to meet everyone during one of our games in December, which is going to be awesome!
Dolfans – I can’t thank you all enough for your generosity, enthusiasm and great energy! You are the reason this club is so awesome and I look forward to seeing you guys during the weeks ahead.
Also a VERY special thanks to Curtis, the manager at the bar, who has been a great supporter of DolfansNYC and continues to be a rock star! You’re the best!
Enjoy this short video from Sunday at Third and Long.
GO DOLPHINS!!!

Dolfans NYC Tailgate Video

Sunday, November 8th, 2009

Hey guys! Sorry this is so late. It’s just been one of those weeks. So, I know everyone’s getting jazzed for the game against the Pats (I’m so excited!!), but I just wanted to go back to last Sunday for a second and talk about how ridiculously AWESOME that day was! And I was able to relive it while editing this video for you tonight.

Here’s a rundown of how the day went for me:
6:00am – Wake up – Get things ready for tailgate.
7:00am – Head over to the rental car place. Pick up my car. (I was fully prepared to swap it out if they pulled up with a Jet green car – thankfully that wasn’t necessary).
8:20am – Meet up with Jen, Jarrett, Igor, Brian and Alex. Start packing up the car.
8:40am – Kat and co pull up in their car (carrying the prized Dolphins beer pong table!)
8:45amam – Hit the road and drive out to the Meadowlands!
9:15am – Get to stadium, park in lot 16C near other Dolfans and start setting up shop.
9:30am – Send out text to DolfansNYC people to let them know where we were
9:30am – 12:30pm – Party like it’s 1999 at 16C. Complete with BBQ, Beer Pong, The Fight Song and a Beer Funnel!
1:00pm – Walk up to our seats – Last row of the stadium – approx 5 ft under the Goodyear blimp. 🙂
1:00pm – 4:00-ish pm – Watch the Miami Dolphins sweep the Jets….and Ted Ginn Jr make history!
4:30pm – 5:30pm – Hang out and celebrate with DolfansNYC
5:30pm – Drive back to the city
6:30pm – Return rental car
7:00pm – Bask in the glory of an incredible day and pass out from sheer exhaustion.
I hope you guys enjoy sharing in the fun of November 1st, by checking out the video.
GO DOLPHINS!!
