2025 #MetLifeTakeover Photos

The Dolphins season started out so poorly and so did Takeover ticket sales. People were so down on the Dolphins we would go weeks without selling a ticket, but just like the Dolphins season we turned a corner and in the end the 2025 Takeover was an absolute blast. With the cost of Jets tickets in the dumpster and playing in December we still had one of our smallest Takeovers, but it was one of the smoothest, most enjoyable Takeovers I can remember.

The weekend started out at our bar Slattery’s Midtown Pub the night before the game. It’s always great to hang out with everyone. We need some raffles and sold some merch and just got to talk football and see people we only get to see once a year at the Takeover. It’s always so much fun even though we end kinda early because we have to be right back at Slattery’s at the crack of dawn to set up for the bus trip over to New Jersey.

For the tailgate itself stripped down our budget a bit and decided to sell all our t-shirts at half price to clean out our inventory so we were still able to raise a bunch of money for charity. Our 50/50 raffle raised more than $600 and the person who won is a teacher and is planning on using the money on school supplies for kids so it was a huge win/win.

Huge shoutout to Urban Tailgate for another great set up. With a slightly smaller crowd the lines were moving quickly and the food was great as always. Our DJ Drell was killing it all day and spinning some great tunes and our videographer got some great footage that I can’t wait for you guys to see.

The game itself was incredible and we were absolutely rocking up in the cheap seats as always. It was so funny to see a nearly completely empty stadium except for our group of Dolphins fans packed in the corner. The weather got pretty cold by the end of the game, but considering recent years it was a really great day weatherwise. Honestly everything was amazing. I even walked down to the lower levels and watched the last Jets drive from about the 3rd row on the 40 yard line right behind the players bench. I took a couple shots down there so you can check that out along with all the tailgate photos.

Thanks so much to everyone who came out and I honestly cannot wait to blow it up next year. Just pray for an early season game, good weather and some big wins. We will also be making all new merch for next season hopefully that’s something to get excited about as well. Phins up!

Click below to see all the photos I took and hopefully our recap video will be coming sooner rather than later!

2023 #MetLifeTakeover Recap Video

Get excited because this is the first time in years the #MetLifeTakeover recap video came out before the season was over. Luckily our director and editor, Curtis Edward Paul, has some free time right after the Takeover and was able to finish the whole things in a couple of weeks. That being said, this video was released on social media before the Cowboys game and I am just now getting around to putting the video thanks to visiting family for the holidays and then not wanting to think about football for a few days after the butt kicking the Ravens put on us. Pain.

But yeah, the video is up and it’s amazing. It features interviews with a lot of the regulars like Nat Moore, Joe Rose, Solo D, 2023 Fan of the Year Chris Barker, plus interviews with Frank The Tank, Mary Martinez, the viral elementary school teacher and more. Another viral Dolfan, Kickball Dad, made the video as well. This year wasn’t officially our biggest event ever, but only because the Jets would only sell us around 950 seats. It was the first time we have ever sold out before the season even started, the most busses we have ever had and I know our section had thousands of Dolphins fans because people bought up every ticket in section. The secondary prices in our section was like $80 more than anywhere else in the upper decks. The video very much reflects how amazing our party was.

Shout out again to Urban Tailgate for helping us throw this party, DJ D Rell and crew for the music, Oscar Collazos for hosting the video, all our volunteers and of course all of you guys who came out to party with us.

Now hopefully the Raven’s game has been pushed down into the deepest parts of your brain and you can actually enjoy this video. We worked really hard on it. Phins up!

2023 #MetLifeTakeover Photos

The #MetLifeTakeover was a huge success this year and I just want to thank all of you for making it amazing. We weren’t able to get as many tickets this year because the Jets thought they were gonna be good this year (lol), but we sold out before the season even started and gave out our section number to the hundreds and hundreds of people who emailed us requesting tickets too late. I wouldn’t be surprised if we had 2500 Dolphins fans sitting together because our sections were packed. With the great tailgate and the Dolphins dominating on the field it was just an amazing day.

Speaking of the tailgate, we had a huge crowd all day and a video I took from the top of our U-Haul went viral, being reposted by tons of national media outlets, and even a local TV station reached out about using it, although I have no idea if they actually did. Speaking of TV, the film crew from HBO’s Hard Knocks came out to the tailgate, interviewed Michelle and I as well as some other fans and did a short segment during episode two of the show. If you didn’t watch the episode you can watch the short segment here.

We had some cool guests at the tailgate this year. Dolphins legends Joe Rose and Nat Moore never miss a tailgate but we also had a couple of social media stars, with Kickball Dad returning to the Takeover to film some videos, and elementary teacher extraordinaire Mary Martinez celebrated her 30th birthday with us. We had two Miami Dolphins Fans of the Year in attendance, Dolphreaky and the newest Fan of the Year Chris Barker. Solo D performed as he always does and my cousin came out because her husband is a huge Dolphins fan and that was really cool for me.

On the charity front, we raised over $6000 just from raffle and merch sales and that doesn’t include the money we made from ticket sales. We are unfortunately dealing with some possible unexpected expenses because of an unfortunately incident that we won’t get into, but we should be able to donate over $10,000 to charity this year. We will be announcing donations as they happen on Twitter but hopefully at the end of the year I can do a run down of the good that money is doing. By the way, all donations to us are tax deductible so if anyone is interested in donating please reach out.

Shout out to DJ Drell, our new regular Slattery’s DJ for killing it at his first #MetLifeTakeover and Solo D for his yearly performance. Solo came to the second or third one of these we ever did and hasn’t missed one since. He’s become such a huge part of our tailgate experience. Thanks as always to our tailgate partners Urban Tailgate. Those guys take everything off our plate and handle all the food, drinks, games and simple stuff like getting there hours before the gates open to make sure we get our regular spot. And lastly, huge thanks to all our volunteers who we couldn’t do any of this without. From our bus captains, to the people selling merch and raffle tickets, to just random people who grab a bin from the bus and bring it over to the tailgate for us, we appreciate you guys a ton.

Anyway, I did a terrible job of documenting the event, but I did technically take some photos, so I got a gallery of stuff for you guys to look through. Don’t worry though, we will have one hell of a recap video for you guys coming a lot sooner than last year’s video. I can’t wait for you to see it.

Virtual #MetLifeTakeover Recap

Virtual #MetLifeTakeoverI just wanted to give everyone a quick update on our virtual #MetLifeTakeover event. I think yesterday went just about as well as we could have possibly planned. We had a ton of people watching the game live with us, the Dolphins won and we raised almost $3000 for the Miami Dolphins Foundation Food Relief Program!

Huge congratulations to everyone who won our raffles and social media giveaways. It was great to be able to do something that felt a little like #MetLifeTakeover week even if we didn’t actually get to be together. We gave away three Don Shula memorial Yearbooks/ Dolfans NYC swag packs, a Mercury Morris signed photo, an actual seat back from the Dolphins stadium, ball signed by Dwight Stephenson, a Flo Knows shirt and of course the incredible Brian Flores signed game used helmet. I honestly am pretty upset I wasn’t allowed to buy tickets.

On the football side of things it was great to see the Dolphins play a pretty mediocre game and still win. That’s not something Dolphins fans are used to and a sign of a good team. I know the Jets are one of the worst teams in NFL history but even when we made huge mistakes at no point was I ever worried that we were going to lose. It’s nice to have that feeling during a game, especially when I was having to help moderate the Zoom meeting as well. Let’s do it again next week.

And finally check out this video RizeOptix put together for us from his last two years of filming #MetLifeTakeovers for us. As always shout out to Solo D for our Dolfans NYC anthem that we used for the video.  Phins up!

Dolfans NYC At The Meadowlands – All The Info You Need!

Everybody all over the Miami Dolphins world is talking about Dolfans NYC this week. As many of you know we bought 199 tickets to the Jets Dolphins game on the 28th as a group and then TONS more of our members bought tickets in sections 323 and 322. Those sections might be in the nosebleeds but they will be bleeding Aqua and Orange. All our tickets are gone and the two buses we are taking to the stadium are completely full but it’s not too late to hang out with us at Met Life Stadium.

DolfansNYC @ The Meadowlands

If you DON’T have tickets: Try NFL Ticket Exchange or Stub Hub and try to get seats in 323 and 322. Our rows are in the high teens so if you an find anything in the middle of the section you will be surrounded by Phins fans.

If you DO have tickets and just want to tailgate with us we are rolling in two buses at 10AM and will be parking in the charter bus lot in Lot L. If you look at  this map we will be in the little blue rectangle in lot L. We have several members that are going to get there the second the gates open and hold a spot down. Our buddy from the Ohio Dolfans club will be bringing with him his 28 foot flag pole so you should be able to find us pretty easily.

If you are tailgating with us we sugest you bring your own food and drinks. We are providing food and drinks for the people who have already paid us and who are riding the bus with us and will probably have some stuff left over but we don’t want to run out so bring something! If you have a grill and tailgating stuff bring it! The 200+ Phins fans we are rolling with will appreciate it. We are going to have a few grils but the more stuff the better!

The fun stuff: We have a bunch of fun stuff going on at the tailgate aside from food, drinks and antagonizing Jets fans. We are going to be raffling a bunch of Dolphins autographs and other stuff at the tailgate. The Dolphins actually sent us some cool stuff to raffle plus we have a bunch of our own stuff. All the money raised will be donated to the Miami Dolphins Foundation and possibly a couple other charities. The raffle will be held at noon at the buses. We also will have Dolfans NYC t-shirts there as well with profits going to charity as well. We also are going to be video taping and photographing the event so don’t be surprised if you end up all over the Miami Dolphins fan sites. We are doing a huge group picture at 12:15pm so meet us there for it! Solo D will be joining us at the tailgate, so you might end up in a rap video as well…

More information: If you still have questions reach out to us at dolfansnyc@gmail.com or @doflansnyc on Twitter. You can also talk to us and more NYC Phins fans over on our Facebook page. We will be updating our Facebook and Twitter with our EXACT location as soon as we get to the Meadowlands so check one of them when you roll into the stadium gates.

So that’s all I have for you. It has been an honor to run Dolfans NYC and I know Michelle feels the same way. She has been busting her ass organizing all of this and we couldn’t be more excited. As you know we give all the money we make to charity because we do this for the love. And not just for the love of the Dolphins but for the love of the Dolphins fan. It’s been so amazing to meet so many people who love the Dolphins as passionately as we do and this Jets trip every year is the most fun thing we do. Win or lose (we are going to win of course) it’s amazing to be there with so many Phins fans and this is going to be our biggest crowd yet. I am going to leave you with two videos. The first is a video from our first Dolfans NYC tailgate with only 30 of us. Just imagine what 200 is going to look like. The second video is Solo D’s new song about the Phins/Jets game this week. He reps our bar Third & Long and shouts out Dolfans NYC. He came with us last year and knows how much fun it is to party with Dolfans NYC.

See you guys soon. Go Dolphins!
