We actually managed to get the site up before the Saints game! That was my goal and I didn’t think we would make it. Well, clearly I was wrong. The site is going to be tweaked over the rest of the season probably starting, but it is ready to go now. I hours this weekend getting all the updates from our temporary site moved over, adding all the pictures and getting some new video posted. I hope you like it.
We are going to be doing a lot more video and want to include everyone who comes out to Third & Long every week. Talk to me at a game, lets get you guys involved in the site in some way or another. This thing is about Dolphins fans stuck in the heart of Jets country trying to have a place to talk Dolphins and watch the games in a great environment, not about Michelle and I starting a blog. So, please, send in pictures, video blogs, writing, anything, we want this page to be yours.
Only 4 and a half hours to kick off against the Saints. Let the Wildcat roar and make Drew Brees look like Drew Henson. Go Dolphins!

Huge game this week against the Saints. We are up against probably the best team in the NFL right now. If we can take this game we will be back to .500 and serious contenders. If we lose, we go into two huge divisional games 2 games back. I can’t wait.
Third & Long should be packed for this game and I hope most of you can make it out. And remember its the 4:15 game so you have all day to get mentally prepared.
I wanted to give you guys and update on our website. I was hoping it was going to be ready to launch today, but it’s not quite there. I think it will be up in the next 48 hours though for sure. I will send out another message then. We are looking for contributors to the site, so if you have any ideas let me know
I also wanted to mention two events we have coming up:
Next weekend is the Dolphins/Jets game in the Meadowlands. We have purchased 30 tickets as a group and I know a lot of other people are going. We are planning at tailgate so we will let you know as soon as we find out where we are going to be. That should be crazy.
The weekend after that is the first Patriots game and we are going to be doing a DolfansNYC fundraiser. We have had some expenses and plan on having some more over the rest of the season so we are trying to raise $250 to pay for this stuff. We are going to do a tailgate at Third and Long with food and raffles and some other surprises. There will be a $10 suggested donation for food and $1 raffle tickets for Dolphins stuff. Any money raised over $250 will be donated to Third and Long’s charity The I Will Foundation.
Okay, so thats that. I hope to see you all out tomorrow and as always, Go Dolphins!
I’ve been a fantasy football fanatic since winning my first title in 1999, when I took a flyer on an unknown player named Kurt Warner. In “What’s Your Fantasy?” I’ll deliver my weekly predictions and thoughts on who to put in your starting lineup, keep on your bench, and think about if you’re in a bind.
This week, I advise against being “cute” and benching star players facing tough matchups, and tackle a question from a frustrated owner of Carolina’s Steve Smith.
If you have female friends or family in South Florida right now this post is for you…
I received an e-mail from fellow female Dolfan, Pauline Crowder (mother of the Dolphins’ own Channing Crowder). She has been dedicating her time to educating women on the game of football and helping them to understand and appreciate this awesome game! It’s always great to see the women out there supporting football and especially the Dolphins! I wanted to share Pauline’s e-mail with you and also let you know about some upcoming events that she is hosting and how you can participate. Thank you Pauline!
We have weekly seminars at Bokampers Sports Bar in Plantation at 7:00 p.m. right before Monday Night Football
We are also holding a seminar at the Bank Atlantic Service Center on Cypress Creek this Tuesday, October 27th at 6:00 p.m. The seminars usually last about an hour and a half. They are interactive — questions are encouraged. Channing joins us near the end of the seminar, so everyone has an opportunity to talk with him, have him sign autographs, take pictures, etc. In addition to being informative, they are lots of fun.

Michelle had a chance to go to a golf tournament that Anthony Fasano threw in New Jersey and she ran into our battering ram of a tight end Joey Haynos. Joey might not catch a lot of balls, but it is no coincidence that our rush offense has vastly improved since Haynos and Lou Polite joined the team. One thing you might not know, but should, is that Joey’s aunt and uncle live in New York and have made several appearances at Third & Long for DolfansNYC events. Say hi to them next time…
So please, check out this video of Joey thanking all of you guys for supporting the Dolphins deep in Jets country. And I don’t want to give any spoilers or anything… but we may have some more video surprises coming soon…
That might have been the greatest game ever… At least since the last time we beat the Jets. If you guys weren’t at the bar, let’s just say we went crazy. I think there might be video of me crowd surfing after Ronnie Brown put it in from 2 to win with 7 seconds left in the game. That has to be the most fun we have had a Third & Long yet.
We got some pretty good pictures this week. Again, please click the gallery to head to our Flickr site where you can download all the photos in higher quality.
So who’s still thinking about that game on Monday night??? I know we are!!! The Dolphins looked amazing and scored their second win of the season. What made it even sweeter is that it was against those stinking Jets!
Stay tuned for photos from the bar.
Guess what guys?! We have THIRTY Dolfans going to the Meadowlands on November 1st for the rematch. We’ll be in sections 306 and 326. If you want to join us for tailgating, please e-mail dolfansnyc@gmail.com
Enjoy the bye weekend and we’ll see you on October 25th for Dolphins vs Saints!
PS….Mark the calendar — tailgate party at Third and Long for Dolphins vs Patriots on November 8th!
Finally we have something to smile about! It’s so much easier taking photos when we are kicking the snot out of another team… Especially the hated Bills. Even though the Patriots are probably the most hated team in the history of football, and the Jets have given us nightmares over the last decade, I still hate the Bills most of all. Growing up watching Jim Kelly keep Dan out of Super Bowl after Super Bowl I just get enraged whenever I see blue and red.
Anyway, I think I got some good pictures this week, check them out below. If you want to download a picture, click the slide show and it will link to our Flicker account.
Thanks so much for the amazing turnout on Sunday as the Dolphins beat the Bills to finally break the losing streak! We had an awesome time at Third and Long and cannot wait for MONDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL when we face our hated rivals, the New York Jets!!!! Photos from the bar on Sunday will be posted soon.
And speaking of the Jets….as many of you know, we bought 20 tickets to attend the November 1st game Fins vs Jets at the Meadowlands. All 20 tickets have been snapped up already. However, we’ve had a lot of people express an interest in going in on additional tickets. We can certainly buy another row of 10 seats, but need a guarantee that you are able to reimburse us the day of purchase (like we did with the last set of tickets).
The total came out to $86 and the seats are in the 300’s sections. We have one row on one end of the stadium and one row on the other end. There’s no guarantee with Ticketmaster that the 3rd row will be in the same section as the others, but there’s a good chance it will be close by.
If you are interested, please let us know so that we can try to coordinate all the details.
We will know as we get closer to the date as far as tailgate details and where we can all meet up to pre-party. More info to follow….
Coming up…. November 9th — Dolphins vs Patriots – We will be hosting a tailgate party at Third and Long! Decorations, snacks, specials prizes, charity raffle, etc etc. Mark your calendars!!!
