#MetLifeTakeover Pre-Party Pictures!

What a great few days we had! On Sunday we threw a #MetLifeTakeover pre-party at Slattery’s Midtown Pub because we knew a lot of people weren’t going to be able to tailgate because of their day jobs. Monday Night Football is an awesome time but it’s not very convenient!

It worked out really well considering the freezing rain Monday night and we had a lot of fun!

Sunday was a great opportunity for everyone from out of town to meet each other and check out Slattery’s. It was also a great way for us to get a lot of the logistics out of the way. We handed out bus passes and gave out info about the tailgate and practiced some cheering. We also gave out a bunch of the Dolfans NYC #MetLifeTakeover rally towels that we had thanks to the support from AquaHyrdrate.

We had some special guests as well! The Miami Dolphins sent two of their staffers Sergio and Hayle (Hayle’s dad is a Dolfans NYC regular) and they brought former Dolphins QB Jay Fiedler. He was just supposed to be there for an hour signing autographs and taking pictures but he ended up sticking around a lot longer and even introduced our other special guest Solo D. Solo D did a short set including the new Dolfans NYC anthem!

As you probably know a big part of Dolfans NYC is our charitable donations so we had to have a HUGE fundraiser for the #MetLifeTakeover.

The Dolphins sent us a ton of stuff to give away (including 150 shirts!) so we did free giveaways, a raffle and a live auction! The raffle was a big success and we raised over $1200 the biggest prize of the night was a Ryan Tannehill signed helmet and that clearly went to the right people. Check out the amazing video they recorded when they gave the helmet to their kids. It brings a tear to your eye!

The live auction went amazing as well!

We had some game used cleats sell for $70, a playbook signed by Jarvis Landry go for $50 and a signed Mike Wallace helmet went for an incredible $550! With those items plus a few extra donations we ended up raising $750 for Darryl Talley the former Bills linebacker who is going through some very hard times as a result of brain injury from a career spent chasing Marino all over the field. Former ESPN AFC East blogger Tim Graham told Talley’s heartbreaking story and we are so glad we were able to help a former enemy. As much as we hate the Bills, we all love football and it’s moments like this when we an come together for something bigger.

When you add the auction and the raffle and all the Dolfans NYC merch we sold we raised over $3000 that will go into the Dolfans NYC war chest so that we can throw bigger and better events and most importantly make charitable donations like the $5000 we recently donated to the Miami Dolphins Foundation. I have a feeling that Ride DCC will be getting a donation in the near future!

Now before I get up all the photos from the actual #MetLifeTakeover I just wanted to thank everyone for coming out to the pre-party.

I especially want to thank the Miami Dolphins, Jay Fiedler, Solo D, Slattery’s and AquaHydrate for making it one hell of a party. I also wanted anyone in the tri-state area to check out Jay Fiedler’s Brookwood Camps. The Fidler family runs a summer sports camp that combines normal sleepover camp fun with sports camps and is worth checking out. Always great to support a former Dolphin… especially one from New York!

Now check out the photos below! If you want to download one, just double click it and it will open in a new window!

The New Dolfans NYC Anthem!

My life has been completely taken over by the #MetLifeTakeover and the pre party we are doing Sunday November 30th. My living room is filled with a half dozen boxes filled with everything from inflatable palm trees to t-shirts to some of the best raffle prizes we have ever had. It’s insane. I will get to all that stuff in a minute but before I do, I wanted to let you guys that the one and only Solo D has re-recorded the Dolfans NYC theme song!

Solo D wrote a song for us years ago and ever since DJ Tropic started DJing our Sunday watch parties at Slattery’s people have been asking about that track. Tropic spins it at least once a week and people keep bugging him about where they can get a copy. The problem was that the song was way out of date. It mentioned our old bar Third & Long and our hatred for Rex Ryan who will very likely be out of a job in a couple months. We asked him to rerecord it and he was happy to do it since back then he was just recording shit at his place and he wanted to update it with some real studio sound!

So here it is the 2014 version of the Dolfans NYC Anthem! Get it, memorize it and sing it with us every Sunday!

[mp3j track=”http://www.dolfansnyc.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/01-Dolfans-NYC-Anthem.mp3″ volslider=”y” style=”outline”] Download the MP3

Now for some other stuff! Speaking of Solo D, he will be playing at our November 30th pre-party! The party starts at noon at Slattery’s Midtown Pub and will go to about four. At 1pm we have a surprise Dolphins alumni visiting and at 2pm Solo D will be performing. DJ Tropic will be DJing and we are raffling off TWO full sized autographed Dolphins helmets! One is signed by Ryan Tannehill and the other by Mike Wallace. We also have a game used signed Brian Hartline cleat and a TON of other prizes. On top of that the first 150 people in the door get a free t-shirt. It’s going to be insane.

Lastly, I just wanted to hook you guys up with a story written by Dolfans NYC member Pascal Mencini. He went to London for the Raiders game and ended up hanging out with a bunch of the Dolphins rookies. It’s a pretty cool story and worth checking out.

Phins up!

#MetLifeTakeover Party & Tailgate!

It finally happened. Today we sold our 1,000th ticket to the Dolphins game in NJ on Monday Night Football. It’s a huge milestone for us because we thought we would have a hard time selling tickets since it was on a work night and Thanksgiving weekend but we have sold over 250 more than our record breaking 752 tickets last year!

We now own the two highest group ticket purchases in MetLife Stadium history.

We have taken the #MetLifeTakeover to another level and thank you guys so much for joining us!

If you still need tickets we are completely sold out, but it’s time to announce the sections so any last minute ticket holders can pick them up on StubHub.

We have nearly the entire sections of 345 and 346 so good luck getting tickets in those sections… but we also have 8 full rows in 344 and several rows in 347 as well. I recommend buying tickets in rows 17-20 in 347 and the top rows (24-26) in 344.

Also there are a few seats in the “prime” section of 346 so you can get some pretty great seats cheap with a ton of Dolphins fans sitting right behind you.

Let’s keep going!

Now the fun stuff! Tailgate info and the big pre party!

Because it’s on Monday night our busses aren’t leaving our bar, Slattery’s Midtown Pub, until 5:45pm so that means the 216 people who signed up for the buses won’t be getting to MetLife until around 7pm. Because of this we are NOT doing an official tailgate. BUT we are going to be organizing a BYO tailgate in Lot L (you need a YELLOW parking pass). A few of us will be getting there right when the gates open and we will post our location to Twitter and Facebook. If everyone meets us there we can still party while we wait for all the busses to show up. Bring your own beer and food and if you have a grill or tents or whatever BRING EVERYTHING! We can still do a pretty fun tailgate even if it’s not catered or anything like last year. Plus we will have a few surprises in store…

Speaking of surprises, we are throwing a big party at Slattery’s on Sunday the 30th!

On Sunday at noon we are having a big party since we aren’t doing a proper tailgate. The big news is that members of the Miami Dolphins organization will be there! They haven’t told us who yet, but they are bringing a Dolphins alumni member and a ton of SERIOUS raffle prizes. This will be BY FAR our biggest raffle ever. Plus the first 150 people through the door will receive aqua Miami Dolphins t-shirts! We will be showing the 2013 #MetLifeTakeover game as well as some of the 1pm games plus we will have a performance from the one and only Solo D! There will be the same food/drink specials we have every game day at Slattery’s and there will be even more surprises.

We will also be selling our new merch designed specifically for the #MetLifeTakeover we have new warm weather Dolfans NYC beanies and Dolfans NYC clear bags. If you haven’t been to a game recently the NFL now requires everyone to have clear bags if you want to bring anything into the stadium. So now you can rep our crew in style. If you can’t make the party they are now available in our web store too!

Lastly we will be giving out rally towels for people going to the game with us. You must have purchased tickets from us to get one. We only have 600 so this is the only way you are guaranteed to get one.

We will also be giving out wristbands for the bus and even a few inflatable palm trees! It’s going to be a party!

So, let’s get excited for the best #MetLifeTakeover ever!

Sign Up For The 2014 #MetLifeTakeover!

This year the Dolphins play the Jets on Monday Night Football and once again Dolfans NYC is organizing a takeover and we are getting ready for prime time! The 2014 #MetLifeTakeover doesn’t happen until December 1st but we are already setting plans in motion and here is how you reserve your seat! We have on hold over 600 seats for the game and we would love to break the 751 tickets we bought last year!

Since this year’s game falls on a Monday we are NOT going to be organizing a specific tailgate party.

That being said we are going to be throwing a party that Sunday night at our bar Slattery’s Midtown Pub and there will be some food and drinks available again at Slattery’s before the busses leave.

Additionally this year we got ticket prices even lower! We are able to sell tickets for $60 instead of $65 and if you want to ride the bus with us from Slattery’s tickets are $90 instead of $100! Even with the tickets that low we are going to be able to make enough money to make a big donation to the Miami Dolphins Foundation and provide a few extra surprises for the game.

Now, here is the important part… if you want to go to the game with us you need to sign up to reserve a ticket. Please sign up ONLY if you are 100% sure you are going.

This sign up page is so that we can get an idea of how many tickets to buy, how many busses to charter, etc. Once the tickets go on sale we will be emailing you for payment. We only accept payment via PayPal or via cash brought to Slattery’s on game day in September.

Hopefully the 2014 #MetLifeTakeover will be every bit as amazing as last year! So sign up now!!

2013 Wrap Up, #MetlifeTakeover Video & Super Bowl Plans

So things have not gone so well since I last updated. We lost back to back games including one to our hated rivals the Jets and one where I drove 8 hours to Buffalo to watch us get killed in freezing rain… at least I had great seats. We also had this great video from the #MetlifeTakeover but it wasn’t edited and ready to go until after the season was already over. Since then there has been a disastrous GM search and a Super Bowl in our city that I can’t even pretend to get excited about.

That being said, 2013 was a truly great year for Dolfans NYC. We found a new and improved home at Slattery’s Midtown Pub, raised thousands of dollars for various charities, threw the biggest away fan takeover in MetLife Stadium history and grew Dolfans NYC into a serious force in Dolphins fandom. The Dolphins new CEO even invited Michelle and I to watch a game in his box at SunLife. On top of that we really have created a family and even in horrible losses it’s been amazing to be around so many awesome Dolphins fans. There’s no place I would rather be than Slattery’s on Sunday and it makes the wins so much better and the losses sting a lot less.

This year we donated $3000 to the Miami Dolphins Foundation, sponsored two riders in the Dolphins Cycling Challenge, donated several hundred dollars to a breast cancer charity in October and made Christmas a lot better for two Dolphins fans who were injured in the Metro North train crash on the way to the #MetlifeTakeover. We also have raised a significant amount of money that’s sitting in the bank for next year. This money will be used to make more t-shirts, buy more prizes for our fund raising raffles and to make future charitable donations. This fundraising we do is truly the best thing about this for us. It means so much to be able to do something positive and have all this fun at the same time.

Michelle and I (and our many volunteers!) spend so much time on Dolfans NYC and people constantly thank us for all our work… but the truth is, we don’t need to be thanked. All this work is selfish. We do this because we want to have the best experience possible when watching Dolphins games and being able to watch every Sunday with 200+ passionate Dolphins fans or go to the Jets game with 760 of you guys is worth all the time and energy. So in reality I want to thank you guys for coming out and supporting what we do at Dolfans NYC!

Anyway, the Super Bowl is in NYC and I haven’t even checked out any of the events going on. So many Miami people are in town and I haven’t even gone down to Super Bowl Row. I feel like we should be doing more but Michelle is about to have a human child pop out of her and I am busy with work BUT, I just wanted to let everyone know that Slattery’s is going to be doing a big event for the Super Bowl.

Slattery’s is doing a $75 top shelf open bar with free appetizers upstairs  but it’s only $50 if you are wearing Dolphins colors! You can also watch the big game downstairs without having to pay for the open bar. Just pay as you go. I would love to watch the game with a bunch of Dolphins fans so let us know over on our Facebook page if you want to attend. Thanks!

Lastly, I wanted to finally get up our #Metlifetakeover video. This thing is so cool and I posted it on Facebook and Twitter but I never posted it on our actual page. I hope you guys get a chance to watch it because I really love this video. Thanks to Alex Bente and his crew for filming and editing this! Also thanks again to Sailor Jerry and PBR for sponsoring our tailgate.

#MetLifeTakeover Wrap Up & Pictures!

Yesterday was one of the best days of my life and I have a feeling that another 750 or so people feel the exact same way after the amazing day we had yesterday at the Meadowlands. We rolled very deep taking four busses of fans from Slattery’s Midtown Pub to MetLife Stadium where a ton more Dolphins fans joined us. As a group we bought 760 tickets but there were a lot more at the game and I feel like most of them came to our tailgate!

The tailgate was catered for the first 300 people who signed up but a bunch of people brought their own food and set up around us. We also had beer and rum provided by PBR and Sailor Jerry and I can’t thank them enough for sponsoring our tailgate free of charge. The tailgate featured some Dolfan guests when team CEO Tom Garfinkle and Nat Moore showed up and posed for pictures with fans. While it wasn’t quite the Fergie appearance from last year Sun-Sentinel reporter Omar Kelly showed up and he was voted one of South Florida’s sexiest TV newsmen. (I actually had to google “Omar Kelly sexiest” to find that link. I hope the NSA isn’t judging me.) We also had a pretty awesome performance from Miami Dolfan Music’s own Solo D who recorded a #MetLifeTakeover song for the occasion. The Dolphins sent us a MASSIVE flag that we broke out at the tailgate. I had to climb on top of an RV to get pictures! I was also told Brent Grimes’ hilarious wife Miko showed up to the tailgate late but I missed her.

I was running around like a chicken with my head cut off so I barely had time to talk to anyone for more than a minute, but it was really amazing to meet all the Dolphins fans who came from all over the northeast for the game. The York PA Dolphins Fan Club and the Northern VA/DC club made group trips up and I hope it becomes a tradition. I love meeting fan clubs from all over and Michelle and I really want to do what we can to help grow these clubs around the country.

buy zydena online https://medilaw.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/03/jpg/zydena.html no prescription pharmacy

Dolfans NYC has been successful partly because there are more than 10 million people living within an hour of us but I also think some of our marketing efforts have worked pretty well and I hope we can help other clubs do similar events at other Dolphins away games.

The game itself was of course amazing and our sections were ROCKING! We gave out 750 rally towels at the tailgate and they were in full force throughout the game.

Marv Albert mentioned how loud we were on the TV broadcast after Brian Hartline scored a TD and pointed to our section with the ball. You could hear our LET’S GO DOLPHINS and DEFENSE chants in the background on the telecast but our Seven Nation Army chants were really audible in the fourth quarter. The Jets made a huge mistake by playing the song before a Dolphins third down and we kept coming back to it after that. It was pretty hilarious to use that against them.

Aside from the camaraderie and the huge win it was awesome to feel like what you were doing made a difference on the field. I think we all felt like we were making a difference in the game and giving our team energy and I don’t think we were alone in that.

A ton of Dolphins Tweeted thank you messages to the crowd including several of them mentioning Dolfans NYC by name. We should have a list of all those Tweets on the blog tomorrow or whenever Alex gets a chance to do the post.

So check out all the photos I shot at the tailgate below and both MiamiDolphins.

com and our crack team of video reporters were on hand so there should be some pretty cool videos coming soon! I also will be posting these pictures to our Facebook group so tag yourselves in them! Phins up!

2013 #MetLifeTakeover!

This is it! It’s finally here! Jets week! All the ups and (mostly) downs of this insane season no longer matter. All that matters is partying with 760 Dolphins fans! That’s right, we bought 760 tickets to the Jets/ Dolphins game (All in sections 323 and 322!) and we are going to ruin some Jets fans whole week. Last year the Dolphins crushed them and you could hear us loud and clear on TV in the 4th quarter and we only had 200 tickets then. Imagine what we will sound like with nearly 4 times as many. Between the game and the tailgate, this is going to be a party. For those of you going with us you got most of this in your emails from us, but here is a run down of all the important information!

  • If you can’t find someone in our group to do business with, Stub Hub and NFL Ticket exchange have a bunch of seats left in section 322. We have hundreds of tickets in that section so you will not be out numbered. The tickets are pretty expensive though so try our Facebook page first.
  • We will be throwing the most massive tailgate you have ever seen in Lot L. If you want to park near us you need a YELLOW parking pass. Our four busses will roll up at 9:15am and we will be there until noon. We sold out of passes to our tailgate so if you don’t have one you can’t eat our food BUT tons of people will be tailgating around us so just BYOB/BYOF and I am 100% sure that someone will grill your food up for you. If you haven’t done one of these before everyone is super friendly!
  • We bought 750 orange rally towels, so if you are sitting in 323 or 322 come and get one from us at the tailgate. They are totally free. Our thanks for joining up with us. That being said we raise a lot of money for charity so if you guys want to donate a couple bucks we won’t turn it down.
  • Speaking of raising money for charity, we will have Dolfans NYC shirts, hats and (a few) beanies for sale at the tailgate. Shirts are $20 and hats/beanies are $25 but you can get a shirt and a hat/beanie for $40. Cash only. All the money goes into the Dolfans NYC fund of which 100% goes to Dolfans NYC activities and charity. We have donated nearly $10,000 to charity since the last #MetLifeTakeover. Thanks!
  • We want to make a LOT of noise at the game. If you haven’t been to our bar before (Slattery’s Midtown Pub) I lead everyone in singing the fight song, signaling first down and always J E T S SUCK SUCK SUCK chants. I am in the middle of section but 323 right next to 322. So look for me and let’s get our yelling organized! I want to hear us on TV and ruin all the Jets fans day. This is a great way to get some POSITIVE attention for the Dolphins for once.
  • The name of this event is “#MetLifeTakeover”. That hashtag blew up organically last year and I want to get that going again. Maybe we can get it trending locally at least. So if you Tweet or Instagram from the event please use that hashtag. Also please @ us. We are @DolfansNYC on both Twitter & Instagram.
  • Lastly, if you haven’t been to an NFL game this year don’t for get about the NFL’s moronic clear bag policy. You can only bring in clear bags under 12″x 12″ in size. They recommend a 1 gallon freezer bag or of course you can buy a Dolphins branded bag too. Amazon has a bunch. We will have some extra freezer bags at the game incase anyone forgets.

So I think that’s it! Here is a video we shot last year at the tailgate. Imagine this times four! Alex Bente and crew will be back at our tailgate again so look for him and his video crew! Phins up!

Ready For The 2013 #MetLifeTakeover?

It’s time to start our planning for the Dolphins @ Jets game on December 1st. The sooner we get our ticket requests in, the better our chances of getting everyone together in the same section.

Right now we have several rows, all together, available to us in one of the 300 level endzone sections.

There are over 300 seats available right now and it would be AMAZING to fill all of them and really paint that section aqua and orange!!

GREAT NEWS – This year’s ticket is cheaper than last year’s! This year the tickets cost $65 each.

In addition, since everyone loved the buses that we reserved last year, we will be offering that option again, as well as organizing a HUGE tailgate. The cost of the bus and tailgate will be $35 per person.

SO….for $100 you get round trip bus transportation from Third & Long (Update: unfortunately due to Third & Long losing their lease we will be leaving from Slattery’s Midtown Pub, our new home.) to the stadium, food, beer, soda & water at the tailgate and a ticket to the game to sit with an entire section of Dolphins fans. Sounds pretty awesome to us!!

(If you only want a ticket to the game and NOT the bus/tailgate, that’s totally fine, just let us know. We also will be making the tailgate available by itself if you want to join without taking the bus.)

Here’s what we need to know from you….

1.)   Please EMAIL US at dolfansnyc@gmail.com and let us know how many tickets you would want – please ONLY email us if you are 100% certain that you want these tickets and can pay as soon as the payment is due to the ticket office. Michelle has to put down her credit card and it’s a huge risk to pre-pay for a ticket request that ends up getting cancelled. So please be certain before requesting your tickets.

2.)    Let us know if you want to be included on the list for bus transportation/tailgate. Pick up will be at Third and Long the morning of the game.

Once we have all of our requests in, we will coordinate with the ticket office to reserve the seats and get back to you regarding payment info.

Here’s a look back at last year’s amazing tailgate:

Thanks and FINS UP!
